Indeed, improvements from newer releases like auto-save, character customization, improvements to HMs and being able to access your Pokémon Box from anywhere have all been noted. It seems the aim of the Pokémon Diamond and Pearl remakes is a fairly faithful recreation but with some much-needed quality of life improvements.
